TORRINGTON - Many Connecticut towns are still experiencing knack outages due to this weekend’s pronounced storm. The Southwest piece of the state looks to be hit the hardest, as Stamford, Norwalk and Greenwich have more than 10,000 reported customers still with out power. The contributing factors to these outages have been the sombre rainfall coupled with wind.
Connecticut Light and brawn (CL&P) is reporting that not only are branches down on mastery lines, but poles have also come down with gear on them that will have to be replaced or repaired. No vigour outages have been reported in Torrington so far. Several towns in Litchfield county capable scattered muscle outages. In Sharon, there were 750 reports of ability outages due to a windstorm that battered the state. Sharon has about 2,100 CL&P customers, so inhumanly one third of them will be without power.
Connecticut Light and Power’s automated gen separatrix reports that there is no prevalent work out on injure done by fallen trees that have captivated down power lines and other equipment. The care provider will continue to assess damage, but it may imbibe multiple days to fully give back power. In total, about 74,000 customers are upset by the high winds and heavy deluge from the past few days.
In Canaan, Route 126 was closed between Routes 7 and 63 because of downed trees and utility wires. The closing was reported at about 6 a.m. and took most of Sunday matutinal to clear.
Route 4 was closed between East and Butter roads because of a tree and wires down. The Department of Transportation reported the closure at about 11 a.m. and expected that it would catch most of the hour to clear. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the sate would acquire a trickle or snow fall on Monday, but then temperatures should comeback back up into the whispered to mid 50s.
