That's just one influence in Crystal coming out on top last dusk after her performance. Not only was there not ready comparisons, but she did it bloody well. She knows the type of actress she is. Additionally, she brought out a section of carpet to rack on and sing the song.
Just because it made it homey to her and was prettier that the aged stage. That ilk of thing makes you stand out, and in this venue, that's what you're fighting for. My warning to the ten leftover American Idol 9 contesetants next week is whatever the tract is, don't harvest a ditty that other Idols have done. Sure, the clearance act is hard, but it's worth it so that you won't be compared. All I did tongiht was contrast all these versions of these songs to the originals, as well as the Idols that have done them before.
I could only analogize Crystal's manifestation to the commercially recorded ones, and even Simon told her her rendering was just as first-rate as Pink's. There should be a giant banner up somewhere there at Idol that says, "Song choice, tune choice, melody choice." As it's so important, yet everybody under the sun ignores it.
